Walker proposes a clever model for urban density, utilising a corner allotment to craft a bespoke new chapter for its owners.

The design separates functions into two distinct volumes: a robust, two-storey brick anchor housing private quarters, and a single-level gable pavilion for living. This articulation breaks down the visual bulk, establishing a rhythmic dialogue with the neighbourhood context rather than dominating it.

Internally, the atmosphere shifts with the geometry; the contained intimacy of the sleeping zones gives way to the expansive height of the social spaces, creating a varied landscape for living. A large kitchen window frames the nearby park, connecting the daily ritual of cooking with the broader landscape and grounding the home in its community.
